Volunteers Week – Monday 3 June to Sunday 9 June 2024

Text: 40 years of Volunteers' Week. 3 June to 3 June 2024. White background with a wide orange tick like mark top left and a pink wide stripe at the bottom rightVolunteers Week is celebrating 40 years of inspiring people to get involved and make a difference to others.

At Arun District Council our teams often take part in volunteering and all those who have taken part feel fulfilled by the experience. We have helped with gardening at care homes, mucked out at donkey sanctuaries and have recently painted an art studio for the Aldingbourne Trust, to name a few and it is our mission to continue to do so. If your organisation would benefit from some volunteers helping out for a day or half day, let us know at humanresources@arun.gov.uk

There are many great reasons to volunteer, here are a few:

  • giving back
  • helping and connecting to your community – go local!
  • gain new skills and valuable work experience
  • good for your physical and mental health
  • improving confidence
  • making new friends
