Upgraded Homewood Play Area now open!

The council has been working in partnership with Findon Parish Council to improve the popular Homewood play area. The council has been working in partnership with Findon Parish Council to improve the popular Homewood play area.

The enhancements to the play area on the corner of Homewood and Horsham Road, include a new zip wire and junior climbing unit with new surfacing.

Timber play equipment was chosen to fit in with the beautiful South Downs National Park setting. Eibe Play Ltd was chosen by the councils to carry out the upgrade.

The improvements were funded by £31.5K from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) awarded by South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA). The remaining £10K was provided by Arun District Council from our capital play funding budget.

Councillor David Edwards, Chair of the Environment Committee at Arun District Council, said: “We’re really pleased to have completed another play area upgrade, the new equipment is looking fantastic and I’m sure that it’s being well received by youngsters.

“This programme of work to provide updated, fun and safe play equipment for a range of ages will make a real difference to young people across the Arun district.”

An official opening event will take place later in the year with representatives to be invited from both councils and SDNPA.
