This week is This Girl Can Week, the campaign encourages women and girls of all shapes, sizes, abilities and backgrounds to get active. Throughout the week we will be sharing stories from our female Councillors. Today we hear from Cllr Faye Catterson.

" 13 years ago I was diagnosed as having Bipolar Disorder. There are many things I do to manage my illness and one of the most important for me is exercise.

I walk our two dogs every day. Being with nature, in woodland or on the beach is great for lifting the spirits, even in the rain. I also do Yoga for 45 mins every day. This makes my body supple and strong. It also helps my mind to be in the present moment, this is great for relaxation and relief of stress and anxiety. Dealing with having Bipolar Disorder is a daily struggle but exercise really helps me. No matter what your situation is, I’m sure it will help you too. This girl can. "
