Temporary event notices (TEN)
If you run a business and plan to extend your hours for sale of alcohol, or any regulated entertainment over the Christmas and New Year period, a 'TEN' notice is required. The last date for applications is Monday, 9 December 2024.
Businesses and private individuals can apply for this temporary event notice to enable them to hold small events which include licensable activities, including selling alcohol and playing music.
This is generally used by pubs to stay open in the evenings after the hours of current licence times, but it can also be used by the general public to put on events in community venues, such as village halls.
