Residents roll up their sleeves for community litter pick

Littlehampton litter pick event A community litter pick event held in Wick last week [18 August] saw residents join forces to spruce up their local area.

The event, organised by the council’s housing team and community wardens, was supported by volunteers from retailers Morrisons who provided refreshments and by our contractors, Osborne Property Services Ltd, who provided a gazebo. There was also a raffle with a large number of prizes kindly donated by local Littlehampton businesses, as well as by one of the community wardens.

The event was attended by a large group of local children who, accompanied by wardens or other adult volunteers, managed to find and bag a significant amount of rubbish removed from the surrounding areas, over a two hour period.

The very positive response from the community of Wick allows scope for further events of this nature to be planned for the future.
