Proposed increases to some car park charges in Arun | Latest news

 

Arun District Council is proposing to increase parking rates in its seasonal car parks in the district from 1 May 2018.

Charges for one hour’s parking will remain at the current rate, but prices for longer periods of parking are set to increase.

The new pricing structure is proposed in order to help support council services and, if agreed, will be the first increase since 2016.

Councillor Paul Wotherspoon, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “We have seen no increase in parking tariffs during the current financial year so we are looking at slightly increasing some charges from 1 May 2018 in order to keep up with inflation.

“However, we will continue to support local shops with the popular two-hour free parking disc scheme in operation in car parks in both Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.”
