When your poll card arrives, it is important to check the location of your polling station.

There are other important details with your poll card. If you have already registered for a postal vote or wish to do so, remember that there are new government rules for postal votes that are returned to us by hand rather than sent by Royal Mail. Hand delivered postal votes must have a return form completed for the vote to be counted. Staff at the Civic Centre in Littlehampton and at polling stations can provide this. Your poll card also explains about the government requirement to provide valid photo ID or a Voter Authority Certificate (VAC). More information about that is found on our website: Voter photo ID | Arun District Council

Receiving a poll card means that you are registered to vote. If you haven’t had your poll card by 15 June 2024, please register here: Register to vote | Arun District Council . The deadline to register is 5pm on 18 June 2024. If you are a registered EU citizen you are not eligible to vote in UK Parliamentary elections and will not receive a poll card, you do not need to re-register.

The deadline to apply for a new postal vote or to change or cancel an existing postal vote is 5pm on 19 June. Which means that if you currently have a postal vote but will be away ahead of the election please contact us to make sure you will have it in time; by emailing elections@arun.gov.uk. Requests for new proxy votes must be received by Arun District Council by 5pm on 26 June.
