The Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner election takes place on Thursday 2 May 2024 and poll cards for residents eligible to vote will soon be delivered.
The poll cards inform electors across the county where their polling station is and when they can vote on the day, from 7am until 10pm. Please check your polling station information in case it has changed. Please note that poll cards are now delivered in envelopes.
There are some important things to remember for this election, and those that follow.
You will need to have photo ID with you when you vote in person. You can find out about that here: Voter photo ID | Arun District Council, if you vote by proxy (somebody voting on your behalf), your proxy will need their photo ID too.
If you don’t have an accepted for of photo ID, you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate at www.voter-authority-certificate.service.gov.uk
If you hand deliver your postal vote either to a polling station, or the Civic Centre in Littlehampton, you must now complete a form with a member of staff or your postal vote will be rejected. This does not apply to postal votes returned to us via Royal Mail. Please do not put you completed postal vote in either of the letterboxes at the Civic Centre or Bognor Regis Town Hall.
The electoral area for Sussex includes all 13 local authorities in East and West Sussex, including Brighton and Hove.
