Place St Maur progress update

Place St Maur remains a hive of activity as we work to complete this exciting new attraction. Areas of the Place were open for use during the Jubilee bank holiday weekend and it was great to see so many people visiting.

In advance of the busy weekend, we had put some temporary measures in place such as the shingle around the trees. This shingle and the black base tarmac is due to be changed to coloured surfacing as part of the final design and the new planting and turf is being watered regularly during the warm weather and is already establishing. The planted areas will have fencing around them to help protect them while they establish and grow and the use of shingle in the planted areas will be kept under review.

It won’t be long until Place St Maur will be ready, and the fountains in action, for everyone to enjoy this new space.

As we have mentioned before, some of the work has taken longer than expected and the reasons for this are not unique to this project. The construction industry has been affected by the extraordinary circumstances of recent, and current global events, which have increased demand for materials and resulted in shortages in some of the products we need. We are working as hard as we can to complete the work as soon as possible and really appreciate the patience of our residents and visitors.
