Pensioners encouraged to check if they are eligible for Pension Credit by 5 March
On 25 February, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) reminded pensioners on low incomes to apply for Pension Credit by 5 March 2024, as it could mean an extra £299 cost-of-living support.
The DWP has made available an online Pension Credit calculator, which state pensioners are advised to use to check how much they may be eligible to claim. Pension Credit is designed to help with daily living costs for people over State Pension age and on a low income, though people do not need to be in receipt of State Pension to receive it.
