"Lucky 13" Safety Tips for you trick or treaters

Halloween safety Here's a few tips if you are out and about this Halloween ... have fun and stay safe.

Younger children should always walk with an adult or grown-up goblin

Older children should walk in a group - plan your spooky route and tell your family

Only call at houses with Halloween decorations on display

Do not knock at homes displaying ‘no trick or treater’ signs

Never go inside a stranger’s house - only take treats at the door

Carry a torch, glow sticks or reflective strips to light your way and make it easier to be seen at night

Cross roads safely and never from between parked cars or pumpkin carriages

Pay attention when walking past driveways to make sure that cars or flying broomsticks aren’t pulling in or out

Walk or slither – don’t run!

Make sure costumes and masks fit properly to avoid trips and falls

Only carry soft and flexible costume accessories

Do not eat any sweets or jelly eyeballs until an adult has checked them

And ... have a spoooooooky time!
