Local Land Charges team nominated for two national awards
The Local Land Charges team at Arun District Council has been shortlisted for two award categories in the 2023 Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence. The awards celebrate the achievements and successes of local authority Local Land Charges departments across England and Wales during the past year.
The team are shortlisted for the Customer Satisfaction for Local Authority Searches award and Karen Garner, Local Land Charges & Property Gazetteer Officer at Arun District Council, has been nominated for Best Newcomer Award.
The Customer Satisfaction award covers Local Authorities in England and Wales and is voted on by conveyancers and solicitors who are asked to describe how their LLC team goes above and beyond to turn around searches quickly, efficiently, accurately with a great attitude and providing excellent value for money. The team at Arun have been highly commended or winner in this award every year since 2017.
The Best Newcomer award celebrates new members of staff who have gone above and beyond expectations, demonstrably impacting the efficiency of the team, and positively impacting its culture. To be eligible for this award, each rising star must have joined their council within 18 months of the nomination being made.

Cllr Andy Cooper, Committee Chair of the Economy Committee said:
“I am delighted to hear that the hard work the council’s Local Land Charges team do is once again being recognised nationally. Since the awards launched in 2008 our team has won or been highly commended in eleven awards, this really is a testament to what a great team they are.”
The winners of the awards will be announced at the 2023 Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence on 28 March 2023, at The Bristol Hotel, Bristol.
