Local Land Charges team nominated for a national award
The Local Land Charges team at Arun District Council has been shortlisted for an award in the 2024 Land Data Local Land Charges (LLC) Awards for Excellence. The awards celebrate the achievements and successes of local authority Local Land Charges departments across England and Wales during the past year.
The team are shortlisted for the ‘Customer Satisfaction Award for Local Authority Searches’ award, which is voted for by conveyancers and solicitors who are asked to describe how their LLC team goes above and beyond to turn around searches quickly, efficiently, accurately with a great attitude and providing excellent value for money.
The team at Arun District Council are the only local authority to have won or been highly commended for an award every year for the past nine years.
The department is made up of four staff members, who, as well as handling Local Land Charges, are also responsible for Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) and street naming and numbering.
Councillor Roger Nash, Deputy Leader of the Council and Chair of the Economy Committee said:
“I am delighted to hear that the hard work the council’s Local Land Charges team do is once again being recognised nationally. Since the awards launched in 2008 our team has won or been highly commended in ten awards and been shortlisted a total of seventeen times, this really is a testament to what a great team they are.”
The awards ceremony will be held in March 2024, and we look forward to sharing an update then.
