King George V (KGV) play area - improvements to start

KVG works KGV play area (Summerley Lane, Bognor Regis) improvements are due to take place from Monday, 5 February and are expected to take approximately two to three weeks to complete.

The whole play area will need to be fenced off for the duration of the work, however access will be maintained to the wider public open space.

Arun District Council are carrying out the improvements in collaboration with Felpham Parish Council.

The enhancements will provide better play opportunities for children of different ages, specifically including the junior age range (age 8+) and to improve the inclusivity and sensory play experiences. We will be installing a new wheelchair roundabout as part of the improvements to further improve the inclusivity of the play area.

The improvements will also include a castle themed climbing unit, swings, timber trim trail and zip wire for juniors, and a toddler area with a climbing unit with a seesaw, spinning bowl and sensory play panels.

The budget is made up of £67K Section106 developer funding contributions from Land North of Felpham (planning ref FP/92/04) and additional grant funding from Felpham Parish Council.
