Arun District Council is encouraging those who may struggle to heat their homes or pay energy bills this winter to take advantage of the Warm Home Discount.

The discount is a Government scheme which provides eligible households with a flat rate £140 discount on their electricity bill.

Councillor Paul Wotherspoon, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “Winter is a traditionally expensive time of year so I would encourage families and those eligible for this discount to contact their energy supplier.

“I would urge people interested in taking advantage of the discount to act quickly because it is limited and energy suppliers will close their application process once they have reached their Government-set targets.

“There are also plenty of tips available on the Arun Wellbeing website about how you can keep your home warm and your energy bills low this winter.”
