Green Flags proudly fly again

Green Flag 2023 The team responsible for us retaining the Green Flag Awards in six of our parks in the Arun district, got together on Friday, 4 August 2023 at Hotham Park in Bognor Regis, to officially hoist the flag in celebration.

Green Flags will continue to fly in Brookfield Park, Mewsbrook Park and Norfolk Gardens in Littlehampton, Old Rectory Gardens in Felpham, Marine Park Gardens in Aldwick and Hotham Park in Bognor Regis.

The achievement is the result of the hard work of Arun District Council’s Greenspace Team, gardeners from the council’s contractors, Tivoli Group Limited, and support from a dedicated team of volunteers and other local contractors. They include Friends of Brookfield Park, Friends of Old Rectory Gardens, Friends of Hotham Park, Friends of Mewsbrook Park, East Beach Residents’ Association, Friends of Aldwick Parks, Hotham Park Miniature Railway and Littlehampton Miniature Railway.

The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.

We will be visiting the other six parks that made the grade shortly and will be hoisting the Green Flags proudly!
