Did you know? We are doing a youth survey?

Text: Did you know? we are doing a youth survey? Safer Arun Partnership and Arun District Council logos at the top. Green circle with '10-18 year olds' and a cartoon type image of a globe with a small black stick man on top of it. Brickwork in the background. We care about how our younger residents feel about living in the Arun district and they are being invited to share their views about what makes them feel safe or unsafe in the place where they live.

The youth survey, which is completely anonymous, gives children and young people aged between 10-18 years old, who live or go to school in the district, the chance to tell us how they feel in places such as town centres, parks and train stations.

We know that most young people won't follow our social media and this is where we need you to help us spread the word. If you have children between 10 and 18 years of age, please encourage them to take a few minutes to answer the questions. The more responses we receive, the more understanding we and the other agencies involved will have of how young people feel when out in the district. https://forms.office.com/e/9rXA18EZVZ

Hearing directly from young people will help the council and the Safer Arun Partnership (a group of local authorities who work together to deal with issues such as crime and anti-social behaviour) understand the issues that affect them within their social settings.

The responses given can help to make places safer for young people by allowing us to develop strategies to reduce youth related anti-social behaviour and crime based on their own experiences.

This survey is a first step of a wider safeguarding approach. Officers will analyse the responses and identify key hotspot locations. Work will then be completed with children and young people to determine why places are seen as unsafe and what would make them safer and more enjoyable. The findings will then be shared with the relevant parties.

The survey will run from Monday 31 March until Sunday 18 May 2025, and we hope as many youngsters as possible will participate, it can be completed here:
