Customer Service at Bognor Regis Town Hall

To clarify our customer service offering from Bognor Regis Town Hall:

  • Bognor Regis Town Hall remains open and available and is not closing. We have staff based at the town hall and they will continue to be based there.
  • Anyone presenting as homeless will get help.
  • We have an excellent reception and customer services team, who are well versed across a range of services, in the building, who will help people there and then if they can, in the same way as before.
  • Due to the town hall being a shared space, (with Bognor Regis Town Council and local voluntary groups), for many years the staff located there have been those in parks and greenspaces and cemeteries, as well as our customer services colleagues. It has never been the case that other services such as planning have been available in that building.
  • Those visiting the town hall no longer have to take a ticket and wait, as was the system previously, we will help you there and then, and if we can't resolve your issue immediately, we will book an appointment to save you having to wait.
  • We know that our phone lines have been busier than normal as our customer service team works flat out to help get government grants to families. This is applying extra pressure on our call centre. We have 10 advisors handling an average of  calls each day - more calls and fewer staff than this time last year. Many of these calls are lengthy and complex as we take care of the needs of some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
  • Our live chat function is proving helpful to those accessing it and we encourage those with a digital device to use that and the information on our website as their first port of call.

We are always looking at ways to improve services to our residents, while working within the boundaries of budget and resource, and we continue to do this.
