Countdown to the elections
With less than two months until the UK Parliamentary, District and Parish elections take place, the election timetable has begun.
Election activity is marked by different events and procedures and Arun District Council will publicise these as and when they take place. The process begins with the publication of the Notice of Election on Friday 20 March 2015.
This is followed by the Nomination period, which for the District and Parish elections, is between 23 March and 9 April. This is the period of time when individuals who wish to stand for election must lodge their nomination papers.
This is an extended Nomination period in Arun to give candidates more time to submit their nomination forms.
Nominations must be delivered by hand, addressed to the Returning Officer at Arun District Council, Civic Centre, Maltravers Road, Littlehampton, BN17 6LF. This must be done during normal office hours (8.45am – 5.15pm Monday-Thursday and 8.45am-4.45pm on Friday) before 4pm on 9 April.
The Notice of Election for the UK Parliamentary election will be published by 2 April at the latest, although exact details of this timetable are still to be confirmed.
