Community learn lifesaving skills

Littlehampton business owners, employees and members of the community joined together at Arun District Council Civic Centre on Wednesday, 2 November to learn vital life-saving first aid skills.
Local Branch Responders showed people how to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and how to use a defibrillator.
Vice Chairman of Arun District Council, Councillor Jacky Pendleton attended and took part in the training. She said: “This a really important skill for all of us to learn or to refresh the knowledge you may already have.
“None of us know when we may need to use the skills we have learnt so I feel it is important to ensure we are up-to-date with the latest training.”
The event was organised by John Edjvet, Arun District Council’s Littlehampton Town Centre Regeneration Officer. He said: “It was really encouraging to see participants really engage with the training.
“As well as learning potentially life-saving techniques, the excellent training by the Branch Responders was also to build confidence to act if the situation ever arises. Due to popular demand there may be more training sessions next year.”
