Celebrating the best of Arun’s business community

Community spirit, industry-leading businesses and inspirational entrepreneurs came together on November 15, to celebrate everything that is great about the district’s business and community sector.
More than 60 businesses, community groups and charities from Bognor Regis, Arundel, Littlehampton and the villages across Arun competed in this year’s prestigious Arun Business Partnership [ABP] Business of the Year Awards 2018, held at Butlin’s in Bognor Regis.
Bognor Regis-based Community Interest Company, Grandads Front Room, walked away with the highest accolade of the evening – Overall Business of the Year Award.
The company, founded and led by Danny Dawes, helps local people in need by providing furniture, appliances, guidance, support and a friendly, listening ear at its shop in Bognor Regis High Street.
Celebrating 21 years of winning businesses
It’s the 21st anniversary of the ABP Business of the Year Awards, and they continue to go from strength to strength and raise the profile of the amazing businesses started, nurtured and thriving across the Arun district.
Sponsored by Arun District Council, the Bognor Regis Post and Rolls Royce Motor Cars, the awards attracted a record number of entries for the 16 Award Categories.
Two further awards were presented on behalf of Bognor Regis Chamber of Commerce.
Arun’s Business Development Manager, Miriam Nicholls, hosted the evening alongside Andrew Ball from Rolls Royce Motor Cars.
Miriam said: “Despite the challenges facing the local economy, particularly on our high streets, the evening was marked by a sense of enthusiasm, determination and optimism which I believe truly represents the remarkable spirit of our local business community.”
