Be beach safe ...

Be beach safe The sun is shining, and the weather looks to hold across the weekend, with possible temperatures reaching 30 degrees.

If you are considering coming to the beach, come prepared with high-factor sun lotion, sunhats and a water bottle. Our beaches have drinking water taps and plenty of concessions that sell drinks, so please keep yourself and your loved ones hydrated throughout the day, top up your sun protection and try to keep out of the midday sun when it is at its hottest. If you have a parasol, bring that with you to provide shade.

On arrival, go to the Beach Office on the promenade and get a free wristband for each of your children to help us assist you in case they get lost, and please take note of the wind direction. If the wind is blowing northerly, please do not go in the sea with inflatables as you are in danger of getting blown out to sea. Our office on the promenade has a weatherboard telling you the wind direction, and along with the flags, a red wind sock is raised to advise you when it is not safe to swim.

Take care, be safe, and most of all, have a lovely time!
