Arun District Council community involvement document update

Map Arun District Council has prepared an updated Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) which it will publish for consultation from Thursday 19 July 2018. The Consultation will run until 5pm on Friday 17 August 2017.

The Statement of Community Involvement is a statutory document which sets out the ways in which the Council will engage with residents, communities, businesses, local organisations and other groups to ensure as many people as possible are able to have a say in planning decisions that affect them.

The document provides guidance on how the planning system works and how the Council will inform, consult and involve people in planning decisions within the Arun District Local Planning Authority Area (excluding that part of the District covered by the South Downs National Park Planning Authority).

The current SCI was prepared in 2012, but has now been revised in order to take into account recent changes in the planning system. The Council is now undertaking a period of public consultation so that all interested parties have the opportunity to provide comment and influence the final version of the document.

The draft SCI, along with details of how to respond can be found on the Arun District Council website, on the following page: www.arun.gov.uk/current-consultations.

Paper copies of the SCI will be located in local libraries, The Arun Civic Centre and Bognor Regis Town Hall (subject to normal opening hours).

Comments on the content of the document should be provided to Arun District Council by no later than 5pm on Friday 17 August, 2018.

Further information can be sought by contacting the Planning Policy Team, either by telephoning 01903 737500 or by emailing localplan@arun.gov.uk.
