Arun Building Control Charges fixed for fourth consecutive year

Arun District Council has frozen its Building Control Charges once again for a fourth consecutive year.
Local residents and businesses using the Council’s Building Control service will not pay any more than they did in 2013.
Whether you are considering extending or altering your house, business premises or even building a new home, Arun District Council’s Building Control team will ensure the works are carried out correctly and cost effectively.
Councillor Ricky Bower, Cabinet Member for Planning and Infrastructure at Arun District Council, said: “Arun Building Control not only offers our residents and businesses fantastic value they also give great customer service. The fact these Charges have not increased since 2013 is a testament that despite tough economic times, Arun Building Control continues to put its customers first.”
The main purpose of Arun Building Control is to provide a Building Regulation service which includes advice, support, plan checking and site inspections. By doing this they help ensure that new building works are safe and compliant for all Arun’s residents, businesses and visitors.
One satisfied customer, Graham Hemsworth, said: “I was considering carrying out some work on extending my kitchen. I contacted three people about doing the work but I didn’t feel comfortable with any of them I decided to do the work myself.
“I had some plans drawn up by an architect in February 2014 and they contacted Arun Building Control.
“I found Arun Building Control to be extremely helpful and they always responded to my emails promptly and offered useful and practical advice.
“I would recommend Arun Building Control to anyone as I couldn’t have completed the extension without their help.”
