Annual Canvas 2024 - final stages

Text: Annual canvass reminder to complete. The Electoral Commission. Image of a form with a green tick poking out the top of a white and yellow envelope.Each year, we are required by law to undertake the Annual Canvass to make sure our electoral register is complete and accurate. This is so we have the correct information about who lives at your address at the present time. 

We are reaching the final stages of the annual canvass now and have forms and letters going out to around 60,000 residential properties in the coming weeks. If you receive one of these, please read it carefully as you may need to respond by law.

  • If you receive a canvass form, then you are required to respond
  • If you receive a letter, then you only need respond if the details we hold for your address are not correct

The letters and forms will tell you exactly what you need to do. If you need to respond then please make sure you've done this by
5 January 2025, following the instructions provided.

It is a legal obligation to respond, and you would have been provided clear instructions about what you need to do.
